A vast number of drawings spanning the artist’s fortytwo-year career are also included on this site. These are, for the most part, very quickly done gestural drawings. Their subjects include dancers, family and friends, observations while traveling, and especially animals. There are almost no landscapes, and any seascapes tend to connect in some way to fishing (see the FAUNA page on this site). A fluidity of line is one of the hallmarks of Raubacher’s paintings and drawings. From her very first drawing of a horse to the sketchbooks and journals she has kept over the length and breadth of her career, Raubacher reveals herself to be a keen observer of both animal and human nature. She has created her own line throughout her career which viewers can follow via this web-based retrospective.
